Your first visit

How do I book my first visit?

WhatsApp or call the clinic you would like to visit, or send a booking request from this website. Each clinic has its own numbers, listed on our clinics page.

We reply to booking requests sent through this website within 2 working days.

It helps to tell us:

  • your name
  • what the visit is for, such as a check-up, a clean or a tooth that hurts
  • the days and times that suit you

What should I bring?

  • Your NRIC or other photo ID
  • Your CHAS, Merdeka Generation or Pioneer Generation card, if you have one
  • A list of the medicines you take, including supplements
  • Any dental X-rays or records from a previous dentist, if you have them

Children should come with a parent or guardian.

What happens at my first visit?

  1. Register. New patients, please arrive 10 minutes early to complete registration at the front desk.
  2. Talk. Your dentist asks about your health, your medicines and anything about your teeth that worries you.
  3. Check. They look at your teeth, gums and mouth. If you need X-rays, they tell you why first.
  4. Plan. They explain what they found, your options and the cost. You decide what happens next, and you do not have to agree to treatment on the day.

How long does it take?

Your first visit usually takes about 45 to 60 minutes, including registration. This is an estimate; the time may vary after your dentist assesses your needs.

If you need treatment, it may be done the same day or at another appointment. Your dentist will tell you which.

Will I know the cost before treatment?

Yes. Your dentist tells you the cost before any treatment, and nothing starts until you agree.

How can I pay?

All three of our clinics accept major credit cards, PayNow and CDC Vouchers. Many insurance and company dental plans can be used. Tell us your insurer or company plan when you book, and we will check it for you.

All three of our clinics take part in CHAS. CHAS gives dental subsidies to CHAS Blue, CHAS Orange, Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation cardholders. See the CHAS website for what is covered.

MediSave can be used for some surgical dental treatment, such as surgical wisdom tooth removal, within set limits. If you are 60 or older, Flexi-MediSave can also be used for some treatment, such as root canal treatment and crowns, at CHAS dental clinics. All three of our clinics can make MediSave and Flexi-MediSave claims. See the CPF website and the MOH website.

I feel nervous about the dentist. What can I do?

Many people do. Tell us when you book, and tell your dentist before the check-up starts. Some things that can help:

  • Ask your dentist to explain each step before they do it.
  • Agree on a signal, such as raising your hand, for when you want to pause.
  • Bring a family member or friend.
  • Choose a time when you do not feel rushed.

How do I change or cancel my appointment?

WhatsApp or call your clinic as early as you can, so we can offer the time to someone else.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

If you have severe swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that will not stop, go to a hospital emergency department (A&E) or call 995.

For other urgent problems, such as toothache or a broken tooth, call your nearest clinic during opening hours and tell us it is urgent.

All our clinics are closed on Sundays and public holidays. Outside opening hours, WhatsApp your clinic and tell us it is urgent. We reply to urgent WhatsApp messages within a day. If you have any of the serious signs above, go to A&E or call 995.
