Dr Joe Lim likes to start with a conversation. Before any treatment, he wants to know what is bothering you, how you would like your smile to look, and what matters most to you, whether that is time, cost or comfort. His aim is to listen first, explain each option and its cost clearly, and plan your treatment around your health and the look you would like, in a setting that puts your comfort first.
He especially enjoys treatment that improves the look of a smile, such as veneers, dental implants and teeth whitening. He is a certified Bioclear practitioner, and uses the Bioclear method to rebuild chipped or worn front teeth, close small gaps and fill the dark triangles that can appear between teeth near the gum, with tooth-coloured composite and, in many cases, little or no drilling. He also provides botulinum toxin treatment for the face. Dr Lim Teong Joe is accredited by the Singapore Dental Council to perform botulinum toxin injections. He completed the AOMSS Botulinum Toxin Workshop in 2026.
Dr Joe earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, on a Singapore Armed Forces Scholarship, and went on to serve as a dental officer in the SAF. His last appointment there was Head Dental Officer of the SAF. Along the way he completed clinical rotations in SAF Dental Centres and at the National Dental Centre Singapore, with a focus on oral surgery and advanced general dentistry. He has completed the Master of Dental Surgery Part 1 examinations at NUS, is fully registered with the Singapore Dental Council, and has presented on a range of topics at local and international conferences.
Outside the clinic, his interests fall under what he calls EAT: education, adventure and technology. In the SAF he helped launch its first dental training facility and worked on plans to raise healthcare standards in the SAF. During the Covid-19 pandemic he volunteered to deploy on the front lines, and he enjoyed the overseas missions he took part in. In his spare time he tries out new technology, always with an eye on whether it could make a visit to the dentist easier for his patients.
